Huh? If you’ve never seen one of these before you may find it disturbing depending on you mindset. Now let’s get serious … it’s a tool for vocalists to help them develop breath support during singing. I own one and I do recommend it to anyone who struggles maintain consistent breath support. What it does is provide resistance as you breath in and out.
This resistance makes you aware of and develops control of the muscles around the ribcage as well a those in the throat such as the arytenoids.
Several models are available. The Performer Series is intended for singers and performance artists. The kit comes with the PowerLung, instructions, workout book and log, as well a cleaner. It took me 2 weeks of daily practice to notice the benefits. The only drawback is that it is expensive at around $100, so make sure your truly committed to becoming a better vocalist before you get one.
