Well, guitarist Kevin Briggs has put together Guitar Basics, a free ebook to help beginners learn the chords and scales that can be used for playing rhythm and soloing in most styles of music. Through his years of performing in rock, funk, r&b, soul, blues and pop music he has developed this book to illustrate the fundamental tools needed to write songs or perform in a band.

Born in Canada, Kevin now lives in Australia and has been featured in many music publications. The most noteworthy include Canadian Musician Magazine (Canada’s largest selling music publication) and Guitar Player Magazine (This U.S.A. based magazine features the top players on the international guitar scene). He has his first EP due for release later this year.

The book includes open position chords, barre chords, scales, and modes beginners should concentrate on when first starting out, finger exercises and an explanation of how to read tablature. The chord diagrams and scale patterns are clear, concise.
