From NYC, The Barrens is a well received psych-rock band at live shows as well as college radio stations throughout the US. In listening to songs from their self-titled cd, I feel the haunting bass driven melodies that range from relaxing and spaced out to a punch in the face purposefulness.
The band has been likened to Pink Floyd, The Black Angles, and Oasis. In the track “Claw Remains”, Pink Floyd comes to mind, and in “Felt” I hear a hint of “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” With that said, The Barrens is forging their own path in the psych-rock genre.
I encourage you to check out The Barrens for yourself.

They have been featured on the Deli Magazine, Indie Darkroom, and Glide Magazine. In addition to being in rotation on over 30 college stations all over the US, they were also selected to play the CMJ Festival in New York City and NXNE Music Festival in Toronto.
