SRV in Austin, Why not Dallas?

San Antonio artist Victor Rangel has made a clay scale model of Stevie Ray Vaughan proposed for place in Oak Cliff, Dallas, TX. There is SRV memorial in Austin but not in the city where he was born, raised, and buried. This project is currently in it’s infancy stage as there is no funding, proposed site location, or approval of the family.

The likeness will be on public display at the Kessler Theater, 1230 W. Davis St. in Dallas, TX from 12 to 6 p.m. this coming Sunday during the Blues, Bandits and Barbecue bash. Edwin Cabiness, owner of the Kessler and chairman of the non-profit Go Oak Cliff hopes that this showing wll help gauge how much public support there is.
